An Underwater Cache is a cache where the container is completely submerged in water, and requires either swimming or boating out to the cache and reaching underwater to retrieve it. Underwater caches may range from just a few feet underwater to deep enough that full SCUBA gear is required to reach it.
This differs from hydrocaching in that the cache is underwater, as opposed to being on land, but having to cross water to reach it.
