Signature items are personalized items made by or for a geocacher who leaves one in caches that he or she finds. Some geocachers leave a signature item in every cache they find (except those too small for the signature item). Others leave a signature item in only some caches (e.g., milestone caches or particularly enjoyable caches).

Common signature items include:

  • wooden nickels
  • poker chips
  • smashed pennies
  • buttons
  • business cards
  • imprinted golf pencils
  • geocoins (trackable and untrackable)
  • tokens made from polymer clay (e.g., Fimo, Premo, Sculpey)
  • tokens made from shrinkable plastic (e.g., Shrinky Dinks)
  • custom stamps or stickers (used to sign the logbook)
