An Earthcache is a speacial place that people can visit to learn about a unique geoscience feature or aspect of our Earth. Earthcaches include a set of educational notes and cordinates to the area of geological interest. Visitors to Earthcaches can see how our planet has been shaped by geological processes, how we manage the resources and how scientists gather evidence to learn about the Earth. For more information about Earthcaches, visit www.earthcache.org.

Earthcaches are now available as a waymarking category on Waymarking.com, though older Earthcaches that were created before the posting of the official waymarking website have been grandfathered into the geocaching website.

For finding an Earthcache, a geocacher is able to log and receive an Earthcache icon.
