Geocaching Live API

The Geocaching Live API allows third-party applications to directly access the Geocaching.com database, while complying with their Terms of Use.

Access Limitations

Basic (free) members can download only 3 full geocache descriptions per day. Furthermore, basic members can download only traditional geocaches. Other functionality is unrestricted, including downloading "light" geocache data (the GCxxxxx ID, name, coordinates, difficulty, and terrain), logging geocaches, and logging trackables.

Premium (paid) members can use the API without restriction.

To prevent abuse, the API imposes some restrictions on all users (e.g., a maximum of 30 API calls per minute). However, with normal use, apps using the Geocaching Live API are unlikely to encounter these restrictions.
